One of the key features of the Edmunds.com auto resource is that it allows everyday drivers to write their own reviews, providing the kind of insight that can only come from living with a vehicle in everyday, real-world conditions. That’s why it’s so impressive that the Kia Forte was ranked the No. 1 “Sedan Under $15,000″ on the website’s “Consumers’ Top Rated for 2010″ list. The ratings were based on each vehicle’s performance in a wide range of different categories, and the Forte was designed to excel in all of them.

Exterior design? The Forte was called “undoubtedly one of the best-looking small cars on the market.”

Performance? Rocking a 2.4-liter, 173-hp I4 engine and sport-tuned suspension, the Forte SX is “arguably the most fun-to-drive vehicle in its class.”

Fuel efficiency? The Forte can achieve an EPA line of 27 mpg city/36 mpg highway/30 mpg combined, and not only does it use less gas than a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, but it also emits less CO2. Middletown Kia says with these kinds of numbers, there’s no longer any reason to even consider the competition anymore.

Content? “Even the base car comes standard with an iPod interface and a Bluetooth system that automatically downloads your cell’s phone book.”

Reliability? Kia has so much confidence in the Forte—and all of its products—that it offers a full 10-year, 100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile, 24-hour roadside assistance protection.

Safety? Thanks to Kia’s class-leading combination of standard safety technology, ranging from advanced two-stage airbags to anti-lock braking to electronic stability control, the Forte was named a 2010 “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. All of these features help to give competitors like Nissan Sentra Seattle WA models a run for their money; just ask the folks at South Carolina Used RVs.

Or as Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing for Kia America, says: “Forte offers buyers a youthful and dynamically styled vehicle with an impressive array of standard safety features, and being honored as a top-rated sedan under $15,000 by consumers furthers its position as a top contender in its segment and a vehicle that offers the entire package.” KIA Forte CT agreed.
