The current Kia Sorento is a competitively price SUV with competitive features. Although it delivers value, the Kia Sorento’s weakness is that it’s a true SUV thanks to its body on frame construction and thirsty V6. For 2011, Kia wanted to provide the same value-packed formula of its predecessor into a package that is more on par with its car-like competitive, and it seems to have delivered.

One of the biggest changes to come of the 2011 Kia Sorento is a new chassis, and forgoing rear-wheel drive in favor of front-wheel drive. The same architecture is found in the Hyundai Santa Fe and delivers more on-road refinement says Kia Huntington Beach when compared with its predecessor. This will make the Sorento dramatically more competitive against the likes of the Honda CR-V, Ford Edge, Chevrolet Equinox, Toyota Highlander, and Subaru Forrester.

Powering the 2011 Kia Sorento is a 273 horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine. There is also a base 172 horsepower four cylinder available as well, but Car Dealerships In Wallingford CT suggest that most buyers will opt for the larger engine. Aside from the manual transmission that’s available with the four-cylinder unit, there’s also a six-speed automatic transmission. At a Hyundai Maryland dealer, personnel say the front-wheel drive V6 model gets 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway which is highly competitive for the segment.

The interior has been vastly improved thanks to a clean design and two-tone upholstery. Buyers can also take advantage of Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation, and even a rear-view camera. Although the Kia Sorento has become more refined, it still doesn’t skimp on utility as it boasts 73 cubic inches of room with the second row of seats folded. Vehicles like the Dodge Journey, which Branford Dodge dealers says offers comparable specs, have become popularity since they offer versatility with car-like driving dynamics.

Expect prices in the low $20,000 range for the base Kia Sorento with the four-cylinder. With good looks and plenty of luxuries, the Sorento becomes much better and more mature, without losing its promise of value.
